Okay, I read Steven's reply, and I now understand "beamer" to be a projector, 
and not an automobile from BMW... =)

Like he says, use VGA output to a project if you have that option. It's a much 
better option than SVideo.

I feed a Yamaha 6.1 amp with a SoundBlaster Audigy, and the results are 
excellent, especially on divx rips with embedded ac3 audio, which I'm passing 
raw to the amp for Dolby Digital decoding.
