[mythtv-users] UK freeview EPG question

I have a suggestion while you guys are working on this one. The SKY TV epg
EIT data should be in the clear, even though the program content is
scrambled. (Most satellite operators don't scramble EIT)
There's no reason why a Sky user couldn't have a DVB-S card just for
extracting data, and still use the Sky STB to receive the AV into MythTV.

This would also allow you to test with a larger data set into the DB.

Rgds,
pete

Out of curiosity, from your testing, have you noticed if the EPG information
changes with the program rather than the time? i.e. if a program kicks off a
minute early does the EPG roll over the now/next early?
(if you want examples to play with this the cbeebies channel has lots of
short
10-15 min progs and their start times fluctuate by up to 2 minutes to GMT...
and missing 2 minutes of a 10 minute program is quite a chunk!)
I had a bit of a play with this myself but for some reason my dvb epg
information is broken at the moment and I can't work out where I broke it at
the moment!

Cheers,
