[mythtv-users] Transcoding during off hours?

Have any of you ever setup the transcoder so that it would transcode to Mpeg
4 at night?
My transcoder currently tends to lockup my Mythfrontend.
 
I have an AMD XP 2400+, 512MB of Ram, ATA100 160gb drive - 8meg cache,
Geforce 4200 and a PVR-250 and 350.
That's all running under RedHat 9 with KDE for Xwindows.
 
So the transcoder should run in the background just fine?!
