[mythtv-users] A question

I am just curious:

If I am watching a movie, using xine or mplayer and I have scheduled to record 
a movie on a channel, will MythTv be able to record the movie? What about the 
sound?

I am asking you this, because i was listening to the radio, though Kaffeine. 
and I found that MythTv does not run because the dsp device is being used. 
After I stopped Keffeine, MythTv did not complain about the dsp device, but 
still I was not able to watch TV.
