Hi everyone,

I am new here by the way so hello!!

I have been building Myth systems for a while - just seeing if I want to
go ahead and commit to new hardware - Now I am using front / back end
with DVB in anger.

I'd like to say a big thanks to all involved in the project, it is
wonderful!! :)

Anyway I am in the UK and am pointing at Crystal Palace 50 miles away
(!) and have to use a high power antenna amplifier just to get a signal
on my Sony IDTV. As a result I have problems with some channels
completely failing at times and quite often glitches on the strongest
ones. I think I have a good test bed ;)

I have been experiencing occasional backend / front end crashes similar
to those I have seen posted in the last few days here and elsewhere (I
use Nove-T and get various issues but mainly front end freezing, back
end dropping packets, giving up, coring etc). I just tried the patch
mentioned on myth-dev earlier...

http://www.mythtv.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=31

This appears to have fixed all the problems -so far- unless of course I
just happen to have an unusually strong signal strengh today!

Have you tried that?

cheers

Alan
