[mythtv-users] Which GCC to use?

Hello

I still have problem with my mythtv inability to edit recording made with my 
PVR-250 card.

In an attempt to remedy this I have tried to recompiled mythtv 0.15.1 with a 
new ffmpeg installed. 
However, I always get error 2 regarding errors in globalsettings.cpp. I have 
redownloaded the file and it seams ok.
My guess is that I have some issue with my GCC. My version is gcc-3.2.3-i486-1 
and I run Slackware 9.1

I have tried to change -O3 to -O2 and it doesn't help at all.
Any suggestions? Which GCC do you use?
