I never had any problems with (xine and focus and lirc). I had problems
with focus when xine exits , that mythfrontend never got the focus, but
not this. (This is described in docs, e.g. in Jarods Guide (TM?), I believe)
What happens if you exit mythfrontend, and simply run xine all by
itself, as in
xine -B -pfhq --deinterlace --no-logo some.avi
? (It'll use ~/.lircrc)
If that doesn't work, it has nothing to do with mythfrontend. As far as
I know, myth simply launches xine as a new process and relies on X to
put xine in front of mythfrontend, so I suspect (xine and lirc) have
interoperability problems in your setup.
