[mythtv-users] prebuffering pauses every 2 seconds watching tv

If you're using a software decoding card, the default settings for MythTV
for LiveTV are far too high in terms of quality. I had to cut the
resolution in half, if I remember correctly. Basically LiveTV is both
encoding and decoding at the same time in order to allow you to pause,
rewind, etc. This puts double the load on your system and with software
encoder cards (bttv, etc), your CPU can't keep up. Just lower the
resolution for LiveTV in your Recording Profiles and you should be fine. I
still have my Default and other profiles at higher quality for my scheduled
recordings and it works fine for me.
