Check your XF86 log (should be the one labeled .0) and see what errors it
is reporting. Also, do a ps -A and see if XKeepsCrashing is running on a
reboot. If so, you likely have some setting wrong in your SF86Config
file. Make sure you have the right PCI bus, converted properly in there.
Another thing, if you are running with no mouse and no keyboard, that
could be a problem. I had to modify the mouse and keyboard parts to this:
Option "Device" "/dev/null"
the log file made it clear that it could not start up X because it could
register a mouse and keyboard. I had a pretty similar problem to you
before I messed around with that.

Good luck

Anytime that I have to reboot my box, ivtv and such is not loading. So of
course X
errors out and I have to hook my monitor back up to get into the box. Once
I am on
the box, if I do /sbin/modprobe ivtv it loads up everything. (Lirc and
etc) and then
things are fine. Is there some config file that I need to add this to in
order for
this to work? What I have setup in my modules file is pretty much the same
from what
I have seen. (Looking at wiki and Jarrod's guide).

Thanks!
