[mythtv-users] Sound dies

I have two hauppage BT878 cards and am using the alsa 1.03 bt87x
driver.

Myth is working flawlessly except that the sound cuts out sometimes
on either or both cards.  Once it cuts out, only a reboot will fix
it.  the log file has piles of messages saying something like "error
reading /dev/dspx, read -1 bytes instead of 4096"

It seems to be tied closely into the computer's critical need
detector.  It seems to only happen on nights when the only show I
really care about is on.
