[mythtv-users] Cable box serial control

I've got the correct firmware version and when I told them I have a TIVO, the idiot said I need to contact TIVO as Comcast doesn't support TIVO.
I even told them that Directv would be glad to help me.  The operator was still clueless.

Try telling them you have a TiVo.  Also, your firmware needs to be
version 7.54 or higher.  To check go to Menu->Setup->Cable Box, then
choose "Yes" to "See Configuration".
