I don't see how that could be possible.  The system is Fedora, installed 
via Jarod's guide.  Perhaps the version that is installed was a bad
package?  Here are the myth packages that were installed:

Not sure why the one is 0.13, but don't see where that could
have been the problem, as frontend and backend should both
be in mythtv-0.14-58.rhfc1.at.  This is looking even more
puzzling.
