 Hey 

 I ran into brief stability problems on my box (also Slackware 9.1)
but it had nothing to dow ith the particular distro. I had to recompile
my kernel to ensure that Local APIC was disabled. Apparently it is 
quite a common problem on Nforce2 based boards if it is enabled.
