I have only 256MB RAM in this system and think that has a lot to do with 
the motion.  From top, I see that the
Mem:    224184k total,   219796k used,     4388k free,     3468k buffers
Swap:  1004052k total,   113668k used,   890384k free,    74308k cached

So the swapping is probably causing the jitter/sound issues.   Do you 
think 512MB will be a big help?
