[mythtv-users] No LIRC on frontend restart

Well, this is starting to get old.

I found a pre4 rolled as an rpm. As most of the MythTV suite is
installed as rpm's, I want to try and keep things this way.

But here is what I am getting when I try to install it:

rpm -Uvh lirc-0.7.0pre4-1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ###########################################
[100%]
file /usr/lib/liblirc_client.so.0.0.0 from install of lirc-0.7.0pre4-1
conflicts with file from package lirc-lib-0.7.0-25_cvs20040311.rh9.at

And lirc-lib is needed by a boat-load of stuff.

Will installing from tarball get me around this? Or is there something
more I need to do?

Thanks,
Matt

This is confusing; that really is the permanent fix. I'm certain of this
because it's a bug i introduced. Did you check the date on your
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc/lirc_dev.o to make sure the newly built
0.7-pre4 version was copied over there properly?
