You should checkout the Xbox Media Center which replaces Xbox Media Player.
XBMC has a MythTv interface to play MythTV recordings. I find the video
playback quality to be better and the software is much faster to load. I
also use XBMC to access the Samba share on my MythTV box for all my mp3s and
non-tv recording videos.
