Does the bios have an option to make S-ATA drives look like P-ATA
drives?

Well, I'm not saying "myth has a bug",
I'm just asking "how do I install Myth on this box" (please)

Here the problem is not robustness.
The problem is the install CDROM of FC1 doesn't install
on a S-ATA hard disk (or at least, I don't know the trick)
as - I guess - the install kernel hasn't s-ata compiled in.

And if I move to another distribution (I've tried with FC2 test 2)
some packages in the distribution are a version "too high"
and downgrading them breaks dependencies.

I am using an ASUS A7V600 motherboard with on-board
integrated S-ATA; the controller is a VIA VT8237 chip,
but I'm not reporting an hardware problem....
