[mythtv-users] No LIRC on frontend restart

Here is what I am seeing in the logs...

First, on reboot, I fired up mplayer (to do this test and also to see if
lircd was actually working with mplayer...no remote love in
MythMusic...but that is another story):
Apr  8 23:06:18 wilbur lircd: lircd startup succeeded
Apr  8 23:06:18 wilbur lircd 0.7.0pre1[1334]: lircd(any) ready
Apr  8 23:07:43 wilbur lircd 0.7.0pre1[1334]: accepted new client on
/dev/lircd
Apr  8 23:09:09 wilbur lircd 0.7.0pre1[1334]: removed client

It worked fine, so I killed mplayer and then fired up xine:
Apr  8 23:12:20 wilbur lircd 0.7.0pre1[1334]: accepted new client on
/dev/lircd
Apr  8 23:13:04 wilbur lircd 0.7.0pre1[1334]: removed client 

No remote. 

Oh! Please help!!!

OK, so if I do a full reboot of the box, LIRC works great. But if I
close the mythfrontend and then restart it, LIRC does not work at all.

Any ideas?

I have been digging thru the archives for about an hour now and I see
nothing.
