That's a FAQ.  In short: 350 has radio in (unsupported in Linux) and TV
out (sometimes unstable in Linux).  The 250 and 350 use identical
encoders, so neither one will show more or less snow or compression
artifacts.

That's true for all MPEG compression.  If it bothers you, use more bits,
or use RTJPEG.
