I have been checking up on this and it seems to relate
to the Fedora MySQL mysqld start-up script. If you set
up MySQL properly (as the MySQL specifications say,
post install) Fedora's implementation fails. If you
leave MySQL alone, the MythTV machine has a serious
security problem.
