[mythtv-users] DVD Ripping error

[Thomas Lann]

I am running an ext2 filesystem.
I did a little web searching after your proding and I
came up with the link
http://www.suse.de/~aj/linux_lfs.html
Which shows that ext2 has full support for Large File
Systems which means it should support >2GB files

What leads you to believe it may be a filesystem/size
issue. It looks like the file is well under 2GB

If your wondering why I didn't choose XFS, it is
because I am using Fedora Core 1 and it didn't come
with the core. I tried the ATRPMS several times but I
would get unresolved symbols when I tried to install
the drivers for my onboard ehternet card as well as
other drivers.
I haven't patched the kernel for support because I'm a
bit of a linux newbie. I can follow directions and
have learned alot of linux stuff in the process so
far, but there has been a large amount of hair pulling
:-) Maybe that will be a future endeavor. First, I
would like to get DVD ripping working, then find a new
wireless card that I can get to work with linux. I've
tried three different cards so far and none of them
seem to work to well. I think I'm just going to buy
the Linksys WET11 bridge.

Does else anyone have any ideas why DVD ripping does
not work to well?

Thanks,
Thomas
