[mythtv-users] Specific steps to nuvexport (DivX format) and system
lockups

I am still experiencing a consistent lockup of the system when ffmpeg is
running. This happens against different files and I know others were also
experiencing this problem. I also know that some people resolved the
problem by downgrading to ffmpeg-0.4.6, which I have also tried with no
success. I still get the lockups.
So here is the configuration and procedure that I am using:
1) MythTV (CVS as of 23rd September) is setup and able to successfully
record using my PVR-250 card. The resulting .nuv files are in the native
MPEG-2 format that the PVR-250 encodes to. I do NOT have the Autotranscode
option enabled.
2) I run nuvexport (updated 23rd September) and go through the options,
using only the default options for the DivX format.
3) nuvexport kicks off the mythtranscode process and then, somewhat in
parallel while mythtranscode is still running (I see it in top/ps -x),
ffmpeg is started.
4) ffmpeg runs for varying amounts of time and shows the counter increasing
the frames, seconds etc.
At some point, the system locks up completely and then reboots itself (I
have the machine, which is remote, set to reboot itself after a kernel
panic). Nothing shows up in the system logs giving any indication of the
problem
Am I crazy here and the last one experiencing the problem? Or am I missing
something? This is my last step to complete my remote use of the box, so
any tips or solution would be greatly appreciated.
