[mythtv-users] Question about nuvexport & transcoding in general

basically, I started writing nuvexport before I knew how to get perl
curses working under redhat 9. Once I got mythmkmovie working, I
realized that I didn't like the user interface (searching individually
through the recordings gets REALLY bothersome when you have 150+
recordings).

mythmkmovie also didn't have svcd export, which is the only function of
nuvexport that I care about.

On that note, I'd hope that the two projects can someday be merged. The
newest version of nuvexport puts all of the user interface code into
objects, which theoretically means that a curses (or tk or whatever) gui
layer could be written for it. Same goes for the functions... Since
the functionality is stored in objects, it should be pretty easy to
create new exporters as needed.

That said, I don't know about the status of mythmkmovie, or whether or
not it takes advantage of the new mythtranscode...
