The problem isn't that he can't use X on that particular machine,
it's that he's blind and can't use it anywhere.

The setup program is pretty complicated.  It handles not only the
settings table but also populates the card inputs, channel mappings,
etc.  You may be able to come up with that based on someone else's
setup, but it would probably be easier to just have someone run the
setup for you (eg. a friend, or maybe find someone in the mythtv irc
channel who's willing to connect to your machine and forward the X
connection while chatting) Unfortunately, I'm very busy for the next
few days, so I can only offer it as a suggestion.  good luck,
