Well, if you've got standard MPEG-2 files that can be played with your
favorite media player (mplayer, xine, videolan-client, etc), you could use
MythVideo as a nice frontend interface to manage & select your video files.
You don't need a backend or a tv-card for such a setup.

Even at NTSC/PAL resolution, I'm not sure a 366MHz machine is up to the task
of full-screen MPEG-2 playback... even if it is, you'd be pushing that
machine to the edge.  I'd suggest capturing your TV programs at 320x240 for
best result there.  And you can pretty much forget about playing anything at
DVD resolution.
