I'm currently running my Myth box off powerline. I picked up a few
Gigafast ethernet-to-powerline adapters a while back since I found them
for $20/each. They were advertised to do 16Mbps and I was hoping to see
8. With 2 of these things on a single powerstrip, I get ~5Mbps between
them. In my apartment I'm lucky to get over 1Mbps. Works for xmltv and
SSHing in, but not much else. I'll probably move to 802.11g at some
point.
