In /etc/rc.local I have
    /bin/nvtvd &

in /home/tv/kde/.Autostart/overscan
    nvtv -t -r 768,576 -s Large

which works fine for me (PAL tv).

You can use nvtv. It needs to run as root to access the raw video device,
and I've never gotten it to work according to the docs using suid or other
suggested methods, but it works fine - better with the nvidia driver.

I've read the only the GF 4 support overscan tweaking. I'm using a
Geforce 2 and getting big black bars around the edge of the screen. Is
there any way at all to fix this without buying a new card?

    Thanks for the help!
