Ok,

  I followed the info in the thread: "apt-get install ..." and took heed 
of Axel's comments
I modified my /etc/modules.conf and /etc/X11/XF86Config in accordance 
with the instructions
garnered from 'rpm -qi invidia-kmdl...' and 'rpm -qi  
nvidia-graphics-glx', and rebooted.

  Still get a signal to the TV on boot, right up until it loads X.  Then 
same error.  I've attached
my modules.conf, XF86Config, and the appropriate /var/log/XFree86 log, 
in hopes someone can see something in there I'm do'in wrong.

  One odd note:  I'm now seeing a message during Red Hat 9 startup, as 
it's finding module dependencies, that ivtv still has unresolved 
dependencies.  I gotta say it still works fine, but I'd not noticed that 
before.

  Thanks in advance for any advice.
