[mythtv-users] avermedia and audiomux options

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm the proper bttv audiomux option used in modules.conf for an AverMedia TVPhone98 tuner card. 
 
This parameter is used to present the proper audio channel for a bunch of network stations. i.e. So as not to have to listen to the SAP (secondary audio programming) feeds.
 
I have seen conflicting entries of both
options bttv audiomux=0xff44e, and
options bttv audiomux=0xff4e
 
My tests haven't been very successful as when I try either of them, at times I get the proper audio channel and upon restart of mythbackend, (or rmmod, insmod bttv I am unclear), the SAP channel comes back.
 
This testing, it would seem, also causes shows to not record properly and at times freak myth out with an error message of "VIDIOSYNC: Input/output error"
 
If anyone could confirm the proper options they use to get stable operation and normal audio, I would be most grateful. 
 
ps. I have also tried the gbuffers option but am unclear as to its significance or importance.
