Hello all,

I am new to MythTV so bare with me.
My goal is to be able to record 2 shows while watching either a 3rd recorded
one or a time shifted version of a recording one.

I am planing on two PVR-250's to off load MPEG-2 encoding from the CPU. I will
be using one of my current CPU's an Athlon 900 or Athlon 2100+ (62 watts).
Looking at the numbers the 900 would use less power(50 watts), produce less
noise and heat but will it be strong enough for the job? If so could I
underclock it to say 750mhz to cool things even more(43 watts) and still do the
job?

Lowering the CPU power needs, will also allow for a smaller and quieter PS
(200-250w insead of 250-300w), and a smaller case.

Other things to cut power needs!
-Use a PCI GeForce4 MX420 w/TV, PCI generally use less power than AGP
-No floppy
-Others?

James...
