[mythtv-users] fuzzy picture

I have installed mythtv on Redhat 9.0, I love the
software but the picture quality is terrible. The
picture on the TV is worse than standard cable
connected directly to the TV. I suspect there is a
problem with the configuration of the capture card
because the mythtv generated screens are very clear
and sharp. This rules out the scan converter as the
problem.

Other possibly pertinent info:
- I'm using the s-video input on the TV tuner,
connected to the output of a digital cable box, (coax
input had similar results)
- My X resolution is set to 640x480
- Video card is builtin Intel 845
- Video driver is "i810"
- I am using a scan converter to output to the tv

I am using a bt878 card - Kworld TV878RF-Pro TV Tuner
My bttv options from /etc/modules.conf are:
alias char-major-81 bttv
options bttv card=78 radio=1 gbuffers=8 pll=1

It appears to detect the tuner type okay, from
/var/log/messages:

mythtv kernel: bttv0: registered device video0

Are there any program that you use to fine tune the
results?
Any help figuring out how to detect and fix the
problem would be appreciated.
