I experienced the same problem last night. I thought it was just me. I
re-installed using the 0.11 release and it works fine. Just like you, it had
worked previously just fine and there were no other changes to the system
besides updating CVS.

Subject: [mythtv-users] Fresh CVS build -- can't find /dev/video

This morning I did a fresh checkout of mythtv from CVS (I do this from time
to time...kind of clean out the cruft) and built everything with no
problems. I ran 'setup' (saying 'yes' to both questions) and, when I got to
the section on 'Input Connections' I got the message "Couldn't open [ V4L :
/dev/video ] to probe its inputs." I've installed/re-installed mythtv
numerous times over the last few months and this is the first time
/dev/video has not been detected (yes, the bttv module was loaded). Did
something just break in CVS??

Thanks,

Steve
