Umm... since I started the post I guess I'll close it. I was only
getting audio from the right channel and then I went to check my cables
and sure enough the audio (coming from the satellite receiver) was
loose. So I pushed it in and now I'm only getting audio from the left.
I didn't spend much time on the problem after that since it's obviously
a cable problem on my end.

I tried this and even though I only get audio from the left channel, it
still says "AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 2 ch", so there's no problem with my card.
So the solution, IMO, is double check your cables. At least I know
that's the problem with my setup.
