Simply curious here, is this an issue for most people? I don't have 
that happen at all. I've powered up my mythtv box many times without a 
tv plugged in, and I almost always start up my myth box with the tv 
off. When I do plug in a tv and turn it on, it works with out a hitch. 
I would be quiet annoyed if this wasn't the case :)
