I have two of these hooked to my box (RH7.3) and they are working fine.
It's been a long time since I set this up, but here's some stuff I
**think** I did...

Configured kernel USB/HID module with: HID input layer support.

Loading these modules:
hid
usb-ohci
usbcore

Add to modules.conf:
alias char-major-13 analog
pre-install analog modprobe joydev
