Yes The serial one is the one that you want.

Right I use LIRC with the supplied remote to control the MythTV Box. I
use the software on the redremote site to control the NTL Pace box. I
have not wrapped the redremote application, I just call it directly from
mythTV, in the settings box provided.
If you do not want to use the PVR250 remote to control mythtv then you
do not need lirc.
