My attentions have been on my recently-arrived pcHDTV card, (getting a  
good signal, driver fun, etc), so I haven't put much effort into trying  
to control the DCT5100 just yet. That FAQ really only mentions the IR  
Blaster, which is in line with what you're saying.

In looking at the box, the only other way I can really see that it  
would be controlled is via USB, but I haven't a clue about how one  
would go about doing that. I'm not even sure if the USB ports are  
enabled in any way (I've already determined the Ethernet port isn't, so  
I assume the USB ports aren't either). Nothing seems to be documented,  
outside of that FAQ page giving the IR Blaster type code to use, so  
that's likely the route I'll end up going (if I go down that road at  
all; I may just not even deal with it).
