[mythtv-users] Sound lagging video

Are you sure it's not video lagging sound? In that case, this is 
probably it:

MythTV normally plays about 2 seconds behind "live" -- that's the amount 
of time it takes to capture, compress to disk and decompress (or 
something like that). So your problem is probably that you're listing to 
live sound while watching 2 second delayed video. Fire up alsamixer, go 
over to the line input, and MUTE it, and hit space bar (I think) to 
enable recording. Then you'll get the sound fed through with the video.
