[mythtv-users] channel changing speed, is 3 seconds normal?

I have a PVR350 as my capture card for myth and nVidia
FX 5200 graphics card which I use for TVOUT.

Firstly, I am quite happy with the encoder/decoder card
and am delighted with the news about the ivtv & myth
development team being close to getting the TVOUT to work.

In the meantime, I have been experiencing a little trouble
with the nVidia card. I experience some "ghosting" or
"shifting" going on with scene changes. It is very noticable
watching CNN ticker or ending credits. It is also more
prominent with constrasting color scenes with dark background.

Like I said, I am using the ivtv driver and using the default
settings. In myth, I have hardware profile set up (hardware
mjpeg) with 720x480 and 48K audio.

I read somewhere that it may be due to an nVidia driver
bug (I'm using the nvidia.o drivers from nVidia) getting
the field order wrong on frames (I apologize for I can't
remember the source). Anyway, I have been using the AVSync
experimental code in myth and do notice an improvement.
However, it is still noticeable.

Is this a known problem with nVidia and do you think the
ivtv PVR350 will fix this? BTW, does anyone know if the ivtv
code will get overscan to work (this is the primary reason I
bought the nVidia card and am quite happy with the overscan
capabilities).

TIA,
Chris
