I got it to work.  

You need to set up the MySQL database to accept
connections from your Windows machine and then install
the MySQL ODBC driver.

Once you have that set up, simply treat it as any
other external ODBC source.

If you need more details on any of the steps, just let
me know.  Depending on what you want to do, you may
also consider using the MySQL Control Center.
