Hello all. I've been arguing with this mythtv box for a number of days
now, and I have managed to make the bttv card *mostly* go. For the most part,
I'm trying to use the RPM'd versions (To be consistent with everything else
and for simple upgrades). Here's the biggest deal:

The v4l bttv works OK, but the audio coming from it in mythtv is
clipped badly. I first figured the mixer (SBlive), adjustments didn't help.
I figured perhaps it was the stock OSS drivers, even with ALSA, no joy. I have
since figured out that it's a v4lctl volume function causing the problem. If I
decrease it with 'v4lctl volume 32768' (which is 50%), it's OK with xawtv,
gv4l, etc. Mythtv resets this to something more like 80%, which clips the
input to the soundcard. Any suggestions?

I've started arguing with btaudio (driver loads, I've mknod'd devices
and can mix, etc), but haven't heard a lick out of them. Not quite sure where
to go with that either. Perhaps the card doesn't go? Looking at the physical
card I see a tda7432, tea6420, and tda9850 chips, which I think does tv demod
and stereo?

Thanks for any suggestions. I suppose the correct answer is to get the
tarball, tweak it, and fry it up, but it seems like a fair bit of effort to
have to do at every update (dependency resolutions, etc).
