My First mail entey hope I did this right. I have been using MythTV for
some time as I was able to get it to install under Mandrake 9.2 RC1 and
re-installed it again with 9.2. Using URPMI, Soureforge and
www.rpmseek.com I was sucessful coupled with the great support here at
this site. Thank you ALL

I switched to Debian for a number of reasons. Using The files at
Sourceforge I was able to get XMLTV to build fine.

My problem now is that I can not find the following anywhere. I am using
the online manual and can not find a place to get the proper entries for
sources.list so this command will work: apt-get build-dep mythtv. I also
used Synaptic (found this is a post somewhere) and can't seem to figure
out apt-get cache (also read somewhere this might help).

I am actually using Knoppix (not true Debian I guess) as I am still new
at the Linux stuff so I still needed a level of automated installation
help.

I have the unstable Debian environment. Given the above I think this is
what I need but can't find:

gcc-C++ (I am pretty sure I had this installed in Mandrake)
freetype2-devel (or is it freetype2-dev?)
XFREE86-devel (or -dev?)
qt-devel (or -dev?)
libqt3-devel (or -dev?)
libqt3-mysql
lame-devel (or -dev)

I have found one or two but they were woody or stable. Is it correct
that since I have unstable I can not use either woody or stably?

Appreciate the help
