[mythtv-users] Anyone using xine or ogle with Mythtv?

Ok, let me stop you right here. Myth itself does not handle dvd's.  Myth
uses another aplication to play dvd's and, by default (IIRC) it uses
mplayer which does not support menus.

IMHO both of these are better than mplayer and "free-er" also.

Are you trying to start a flame war?  just kidding... Whatever gave you
the impression that "xine is something of a hack to work with myth"??
It is right there in the frontend setup under dvd->playback (methink)
where you see mplayer, just highlight it and hit the "->" key to cycle
trough the options.  Now, I think the toughest part is to compile xine. 
good luck with that and ask our questions regarding that to the xine
people :-)
