I ran into this too.
Log in as root at the console after you tell the X troubleshooting program thingie no and no, then type:

  modprobe ivtv-fb

you should see your screen flash
next type:

  startx

and if you have your XF86Config set up right, then it will put X on the TV output.

Subject: [mythtv-users] pvr-350 tv-out (Raw Video=Yes, X/Myth-UI=NO)

I am now able to run X displaying on my monitor, and launch myth, where it outputs the video to the TV, now myth still displays on the Monitor not the TV, naturally this is not exactly what I want...I'm assuming I should be able to get myth itself to display on the TV.

When configured XF86Config, the device section for the 350 is

Section "Device"
Identifier "Hauppauge PVR 350 iTVC15 Framebuffer"
    Driver "fbdev"
Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb0" # <-- modify if using another device
    BusID "01:06:0"
EndSection

but X complains at startup saying /dev/fb0 does not exist (when I attempt to run in with Single Display (i.e my TV)

the log shows when running with the dual display config (the same error):

(II) Loading sub module "fbdevhw"
(II) LoadModule: "fbdevhw"
(II) Reloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/linux/libfbdevhw.a
(EE) open /dev/fb0: No such device

any thoughts??
ps. RH9, nforce2, (no XF86Config-4)
