Thanks to Gavin, John and Adam for their replies.

I checked the Linux DVB site - they mention they have support for the 
Aver card in cvs, but their list has only questions about it, with no 
answers. I'll post there soon.

I've been following the DVB discussions on mythtv-dev, it seems to be 
very bleeding-edge ATM, but with driver support for both cards I 
imagine they'll both work in myth eventually, so the main criteria for 
making the choice is picture quality and receiver sensitivity.
