It may be that the tuner on these cards needs a stronger signal than
the Hauppauge cards.  The pvr-250 is better than the 878 card I have,
but like say, 'garbage in, garbage out'.  I haven't had a chance to watch
that much TV or that many recordings from the M179 cards, but haven't
thought the picture was bad.  I'm running three of these on a 3-way
splitter coming off a 2-way splitter/amplifier, so that may affect
my picture some.  I'll let others comment on their comparitive results
windows/linux.

Big thing to keep in mind is the bitrate and resolution are using also
if people want to start chiming in with 'good/bad' reports.
