usually its an issue with the wrong (duplicate, but slightly different) 
msp3400.o getting used...
# updatedb
# locate msp3400.o

it (they) will be found in
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/
or /lib/modules/`uname -r`/drivers/media/video/

ivtv.o will be found in the same directory as the "correct" msp3400.o - 
remove others from the /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ tree and reboot.
