I have a Toshiba DST3000 HD satellite tuner that can output SD or HD video,
but not both at the same time. The control of video output mode is by remote
control codes. I have installed lirc and created a script that will cause the
tuner to switch to SD mode and tune to the appropriate channel. I have
configured mythtv to call this script to control the tuner when viewing/
recording the satellite signal. This works excellently. However, in normal
circumstances, my tuner and tv work together in HD mode, and this is the
normal viewing configuration we use. Therefore I need the tuner to be reset
to HD mode when mythtv is finished with it. Is there some script that mythtv
executes upon finishing a recording, or exiting live tv mode that I can use
for this?

As it is, I am currently using 'at' to set the tuner back to hd after two
hours have passed. This is unsatisfactory because it will often tie up the
tuner for much longer than necessary, or possibly cause the end of a
longer-than-2-hour movie to be cut off.
