[mythtv-users] using ati remote to start mythtv

Is there an easy way to use Xmodmap with the ati remote wonder to assign the 
tv key to start up mythfrontend?  I just got my remote wonder working nicely 
(it's been sitting attached and unused for almost a year now) and want to use 
it to replace my PB remote so that I can use lirc with my irblaster to 
control my DCT2000 until such time as the cableco gets the serial port enable 
(I'm not holding my breath).

Reading through the xmodmap man page, it doesn't look like it can do anything 
other than send a keysyms for each press, making it unable to run a command. 
Is there another/better way to pull this off?
