[mythtv-users] Misc. PVR 350/TV-out questions

Hi all-

I'm currently displaying Myth to my TV via a AITech Web Cable Plus.
Unfortunately, I just purchased a couple of light guns for Xmame that
seem to need a normal video card TV-out (not sure how the signal really
differs...).

So, here's my dilemma: Do I spend $40 on a cheap GeForce TV-out video
card or $200 on a PVR350. From my understanding, the PVR350 has an
awesome picture and may be able to do some cool transparent OSD stuff in
the future. I have a few concerns though that I'm hoping someone can
address:

Is the signal from the 350 S-Video the same as any other video card
TV-out? I want to avoid the same issue I'm having between the scan
converter and my light guns (i.e. scrolling messed-up picture).

Can the PVR framebuffer handle applications like Ogle, mplayer, Xmame?
It lacks the hardware Xv acceleration that a normal card has, correct?
My CPU (XP2100) should be able to make up for that, right?

Do you get normal boot messages or a text console on the 350 TV-out?

I currently have 2 PVR250r1's. I wonder what the odds of the system
being able to successfully use 3 PVRs... ;)

Thanks for any advice,
Joe
